Intentionally Simple

  • Designed with space for kids to share their thoughts and actively participate for most of the lesson.

  • Fewer materials and a full script make it easy for volunteers to prep and use.

Made to be Customized

Story Guides are unique because they are designed to be tailored. You get to write your own curriculum, without having to write your own curriculum! With access to the full library of Bible Story Guides and permission to use the materials for your ministry in (almost) any way you’d like, you can:

  • Make it your baseline for you as you write your own lessons, so you don’t have to start with a blank page. This is the actual curriculum I am writing and using in my church right now, and you can use it that way too.

  • Give the commentary pages to your volunteer team so they feel more comfortable in the story.

  • Go in Bible-story order, create your own series with the stories, or use our themed bundles to put story collections together.

Affordable

  • Just $5 a Sunday, making it one of the most cost effective curriculum options available.

We have resources for your church families too!

FAQ

  • Elementary curriculum is designed for ages 5-11 and each story includes:

    • a Bible story, paraphrased for the age range

    • 3 wonder questions

    • one game idea

    • one prayer idea

    • a commentary and context page to give adults insights into the passage and help with questions kids might ask

  • Our main focus until age 5 is God’s goodness, and the best stories to tell them are the ones where goodness is evident in a concrete way. And repetition is key!

So, that means we use the principle of skip-and-save for stories that aren’t accessible for very young kids. Typically, you can repeat the same story for 3 weeks in a row, which means about 15 stories for preschoolers.

Preschool curriculum is designed for ages 2-5 and each story includes:

    • a paraphrased Bible story

    • a short sentence that names one attribute of God from the story

    • a “story poem” that sums up the plot with a fun rhyme

    • two response ideas to play, imagine, make, or move

  • Yes! You can download a sample lesson here.

  • Yes! Every story is available formatted in a PDF and also in an editable file.

You can add extras that fit your gathering, like an art project, a large motor game, or a bonus connection question. Take things out if don’t need them, like if you want to swap a prayer idea for your own church’s prayer tradition.

  • That’s awesome! Please invite your families to subscribe to my substack themselves, and don’t forward the materials from your subscription. Once subscribed, they will receive emails with new story guides and have access to the archives. If your church would like to pay for your families to receive the Bible Story Guides, please get in touch to set up a discounted group rate.
